Pre-Order Beaujolais Nouveau. 18/11/21

Production Unique Rebelle 2021 Beaujolais Nouveau has just landed in the UK and is available in 75cl, magnum, and 3L bag in box for pre-order now. 

The Beaujolais Nouveau this year comes from a 2-hectare enclosure in the town of Denicé. Gamay from 40 to 60-year-old vines, south-facing on pink granite and limestone undergoes a 5-day short maceration in concrete tank before being bottled with no additions. The resulting wine is fresh and fruity with very good acidity and low alcohol, despite the many battles fought with nature over the course of the 2021 vintage.

We are really counting our blessings that this wine has arrived with us in time to celebrate the special day next week. This year’s vintage created a lot of difficulty for the winemakers in the vines, to add to the low yields, the fermentation in the cellar was slower than expected, really pushing the limits of the likelihood of shipping to the UK in time for the third Thursday of the month. P-U-R harvested their Gamay on the 19th of September, bottled it only two weeks ago and today it arrived at our warehouse, in record time. You could call it a miracle, but it’s not Christmas yet, so we’ll just call it a happy accident for now.
